Open-Access Commitment
Research outputs are intended for public access, with CC BY-NC 4.0 for VietBioNet's open scientific dataset and MIT licensing for EcoModel-VN's open-source software.
Open science · Vietnam · Public benefit
Advancing open-source computational models, bio-informatics data, and sustainable engineering solutions for public benefit and academic communities in Vietnam.
01 / About LEMBEM
Founded on 15 May 2025 as a registered non-profit scientific and technological organization in Vietnam, LEMBEM bridges theoretical computation and real-world community challenges. Our mission is to develop and distribute free, open-access scientific models, datasets and technological tools for researchers, universities, farmers and underserved communities — without commercial barriers.
We prioritize transparent methodology, reproducibility, practical engineering and accessible knowledge dissemination.
Research outputs are intended for public access, with CC BY-NC 4.0 for VietBioNet's open scientific dataset and MIT licensing for EcoModel-VN's open-source software.
Our public-interest research model is designed around grants, donations and mission-aligned sponsorships rather than paywalled scientific access.
Emerging Media, Bio-informatics and Engineering Models — three complementary pillars connected by practical, open research.
02 / Fields of inquiry
An interdisciplinary laboratory connecting digital media, life-science data and deployable engineering models.
Developing open educational media, interactive scientific visualizations and digital archives to preserve cultural heritage and democratize scientific knowledge across Vietnam.
Analyzing agricultural genomics, biodiversity datasets and crop pathology models to support sustainable farming, transparent scientific collaboration and environmental conservation.
Building lightweight machine-learning models, IoT sensor workflows and environmental forecasting algorithms designed for resource-constrained rural communities.
03 / Open initiatives
Research, code and open scientific data dedicated to public-benefit science and communities in Vietnam.
An open-access smart agriculture platform applying IoT sensor models and bio-informatics data to help Vietnamese farmers monitor soil health, predict micro-climate changes and prevent crop diseases through active community deployment.
A released, curated, open-access collection of indigenous flora records and agricultural bio-markers from Northern Vietnam, designed to support student research, independent analysis and reproducible ecological studies.
An open-source public beta for lightweight water-quality monitoring and flood-risk simulations in rural river basins, with a focus on reproducibility and lower-cost field instrumentation.
04 / Accountability
Transparency and responsible stewardship are part of the laboratory's operating principles. Founded on 15 May 2025, LEMBEM publishes its institutional identifiers, registered headquarters and research leadership below.
LEMBEM's stated operating mandate is scientific, educational and public-benefit research. Under its non-distribution principle, surplus funds, grants and donations are directed toward research infrastructure, open-source community projects and scientific education — not private shareholder dividends.
LEMBEM directs funding toward public research infrastructure, community projects and scientific education.
05 / Knowledge commons
LEMBEM shares research publications, the VietBioNet open dataset and engineering models such as EcoModel-VN under project-specific open licences.
